Description

Comet c/2018 Y1 Iwamoto passing through Leo at near closest point to earth (45m km) - captured at 00h30 on 14 Feb 2019 - Kerikeri/NZ. Latest passage of this comet would date back to 648 A.D. and will not be repeated again until 3390. Taken with Canon 6D, 200mm f2.8 lens, iso1600 x 15 subs x 90 secs, iso3200 x 10 subs x 30 secs + calibration frames, iOptron skytracker Pro, stacked with comet option in Deepsky Stacker (shows trailing and tracing of comet as moves through the sky) and rendered in Photoshop.
